Ken was born in Fargo, North Dakota, and at the age of six years old, he and his family relocated to Northwest Illinois.  He graduated from Mount Carroll High School.  Ken married his wonderful wife, Cathy, in 1993, and they have 5 beautiful children, 8 fabulous grandchildren, and a cat.

Ken enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer and subsequently spent 20 years serving.  His military career took him to many places; such as two tours in Korea and two tours in Germany.  Ken was in Germany when the cold war ended and Germany reunified.   

After retiring from the military, Ken attended Highland Community College in Freeport, Illinois and received his degrees in Music and Computer Design.  After college, he worked in the field of Architecture for ten years, and as a result, has a wealth of working knowledge of how homes are designed and constructed.  Ken gives back to his community by being Vice President of the Galena Area EMS Service and is an EMT responding to medical emergency throughout his district.  

When Ken isn’t working, he is an avid fisherman.  You can usually find him at Lake Galena trying to land a big bass.  He also enjoys playing and recording music.  Ken has been a musician for the past 40+ years playing the guitar and piano.  He writes and records his own songs and posts them on Sound Cloud.  He also enjoys riding his Street Bob Harley Davidson motorcycle when the weather permits.
